If we have a problem with this page, let's talk about it here, not start arguing on the page itself. I'll comment out a few parts of the page that look like they have some problems. CatastrophicToad 11:29, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

Wow, I hadn't really read the page before, but most of it was like an advertisement from the point of view of Justin, the maintainer of Ultumix. After seeing the part about the advertisements at the track, I wonder: Does Justin realize that his distribution is basically a joke? He has put together a working distribution, something a lot of people could not do. But compared to a polished distribution like Ubuntu or Mint, or many other ones that haven't been stagnant for the past 2 years, Ultumix is basically a huge bunch of things thrown together without any real purpose other than to include more features. I think Justin would have fewer problems if he took the attitude of "I'm a noob (compared to, say, the developers of Ubuntu) who managed to put together a functioning distro, and I'm working on it"CatastrophicToad 12:27, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

Should the link to the Ultumix homepage be allowed as is? It links directly to products to sell (stickers, Dvds offered at more than expense involved), and his business "computer repair" services are accessible from that page as well (usacomputertec). His business phone, etc., etc. I don't know, but I think if a person is going to advertise, there should be a fee involved, and it shouldn't be on an informational page. Donations maybe, but not that.

He does like to spam a lot of places, and he doesn't like to listen, or follow rules, which is why he was banned from several places (PCLINUXOS forums, which he mentions, wikipedia, myspace (I don't know the details on that, but I could guess) and others).

"He has put together a working distribution, something a lot of people could not do."

A lot of people couldn't do it, but a lot could. Takes about 10 seconds to type in "remaster" and your distro of choice in google or the distro's forum, and lots of info pops up. It takes very little time or effort if you have basic knowledge to add a few apps, change a background, maybe a setting or two, and then do a remaster. comment from User:Countryguy on 22:52, 19 June 2008

I think that the link the Ultumix homepage linking directly to products for sell is a result of the Ultumix website being straight out of the 90s, but shouldn't exclude it from being included here; it is the actual homepage of the distribution.

I found where the page that was written here came from: http://pediaopeness.wetpaint.com/page/Ultumix+GNU%2FLinux (this is the "about" page from the Ultumix homepage http://www.mindblowingidea.com/Ultumix ) This explains why it was basically an advertisement. I think I'll scrap the whole page and just write some information on the quality of the distribution. CatastrophicToad 17:28, 20 June 2008 (EDT)
