Scalable Vector Graphics
From TheLinuxVault
Scalable Vector Graphics, commonly known as SVG, is both a page description markup language and a vector graphics markup language, and is sometimes incorporated into user interface markup languages. It was first released as a standard by the World Wide Web Consortium in 1998, but uptake in the years since has been sparse. It is often used in Linux-related projects, including both KDE and GNOME, and support has been offered by the makers of Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Opera web browsers. One of the more popular editors for SVG files is Inkscape.
