Should this page have information specific to particular distributions, or should it have generic information for specific programs that are common to many distributions?

I think it should be the latter. Anyone have any input?

I don't doubt that some information should be distribution specific, but we shouldn't have six different wiki's for dealing with bash on six different distributions. --GloryToad 11:55, 3 September 2007 (EDT)

Afterall, most things are common to most distros, and even then distros come in families. Doing the same thing on all Debian based distros will be similar, but a little diff to all the redhat based distros.

Do we need to list these different families of distros by some criteria? Say, package management system (aptitude, RPM, or whatever gentoo uses), or some other criteria? Nice menu, BTW.
